Seven years ago, on the 4th Saturday evening of January, an experimental band of visionaries gathered together for an evening entitled, simply, Sweet!. For the one hundred and thirty or so souls who came together at Cell that evening it was the beginning of a singular recurring event in the variegated climes of San Francisco. An event that has never been publicly advertised, has never had a glossy flyer, and has always required its attendees to arrive by a pre-specified time - or else!

That initial evening also inspired our friends Jondi and Spesh to enter the recording studio the very next day and record the international dance classic "We Are Connected".

Many have chosen to "initiate" their friends at Sweet! - many have fallen in love (several times ; ) - many have used the energy to redefine their relationships. We have been visited by newborns and octogenarians. We have always tried to make everyone feel welcome and accepted -from leather bears to lipstick lesbians, from the classically withdrawn to the perpetually flamboyant. All we have asked is that each attendee give as much respect as they required. And everyone has done an awesome job creating the vibe we hoped for - one in which creativity and openness are nurtured.

We were very disappointed in late October when our plans for a Halloween celebration were cancelled at the last possible moment. We wish to thank everyone for their patience as we have tried to recover from the emotional and financial blow of that cancellation. Some of you know that we have presented many of our events at a financial loss, and that we have been generous in the past in supporting Cell and large-scale sound art at Burning Man. We've been in the red the last couple of years, and we hope to come full-circle to an even financial keel with this event.

For those of you seeking a refund for the Halloween event, all you need do is mail in your numbered Halloween tickets along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the address that appears below. For those of you who would prefer to put those tickets to good use, please mail them in for new tickets to our 7th Anniversary event! New tickets will be mailed out the week of January 12th - refunds will go out as quickly as possible. *Note: in either case, please write your name and address as clearly and legibly as possible - thank you!

Studio Z has been spatially reconfigured since our first visit there nearly two years ago, when we hosted over 900 of you. For everyone's dancing and schmoozing comfort we are limiting attendance for this event to approximately 600 persons. What this means is that there are only around 150 additional tickets available for sale. And, because we are so overdue for a major event, and with the rocking lineup, we expect the remaining tickets to sell out quickly.

All refunds, ticket exchanges and new ticket sales should be addressed to:

Lost Tribe Presents
P.O. Box 15695
San Francisco, CA 94115

All tickets are $25 each, and each order must be accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

As always, Sweet! will be the"lovechild" creation of the people who choose to attend - your enthusiasm, energy, and all-around good vibes have been what has helped keep Sweet! fresh and very special all these years. We are super looking forward to creating magic with each and every one of you again!
